HOW TO GET HERE

By Road (Then Car Ferry)
The Erskine Bridge is a good point for us to guide you from, whether crossing over from the M8, or passing by on the A82. The journey to the Ferry Terminal at Kennacraig, should take between 2-3 hours, depending on road conditions.
Once on the A82 follow it along the edge of Loch Lomond to Tarbert. Then take the A83 through Arrochar, over the 'Rest and Be Thankful' on to Inveraray and down Loch Fyne, passing Lochgilphead and Tarbert. Five miles south is the Ferry Terminal at Kennacraig.
Once on the island, it's ten or eleven miles depending on port of arrival, on the main road A846 to Bowmore village and the Bowmore Hotel Whether entering Bowmore from Port Askaig or Port Ellen, drive along Main Street to the crossroads and turn into Jamieson Street. The Hotel is almost opposite the Filling Station
It is essential to book for a vehicle crossing: Please check timetable at
